Precious in His sight

Do not let your adorning be external - the braiding of hair, the wearing of gold, or the putting on of clothing - but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious (1 Peter 3:3-4)

God's plentiful blessings...

I had one of those week where EVERYTHING seems to work out too well.

Sunday was Chinese New Year. We were invited over for dinner by the Wongs; and had a great time. Uncle John is a chef... and no doubt, we had some yummy food (Fried ice cream for dessert!). We watched the tennis together after dinner - Fed vs Bagh. After soccer, tennis is definitely one of the more interesting sport to watch. Cricket drags on... and football is just not really my thing.

Monday morning: went for my second interview (first 'unofficial' interview on Australia Day). Met Scott on the train, it was nice having someone to chat to, to calm my nerves and for some christian support. It was a long interview - over 2 hours. It was quite nerve-wrecking meeting him at first because he was quite an eccentric man. However, things went so well he offered me a job on the spot. My manager said that was quite unusual. *Excited* The new job has a bit of accounting, finance and economics and it is in precious metals and commodity trading. Head office being in Switzerland and a few more around the world (including Malaysia!). Also quit my current job on Monday.

Tuesday was nice because we had a girls bible study night. Went over to Di's for dinner and then a challenging bible study. We looked at the ressurection - passages were Ezekiel 37 and Daniel 12. It was too difficult to understand them and we kept going off track to discussing premill, amill, postmill. Al & I are very sure we hold the premill view, being traditional methodist/baptist girls.

Wednesday brings more good news! Alice got a job too :) She's gonna be a box office girl, and I am looking forward to the staff discounts on concert tickets, etc. *yes!* God's timing is perfect.

Thursday: Caught up with Cass over some Japanese food. Gonna miss her when she goes.

Friday was of course, Youth Group. School's back on and so is Youth Group. So many kids came along that night. "Fresh" is always a good game to get everyone's energy pumping. Let's just hope the leaders have the energy to keep up with the kids for the rest of the school term.

Saturday: More Chinese New Year celebrations. Our uncle & aunty came over for lunch, celebrated dad's birthday, watched Memoirs of a Geisha, Kung Fu Hustle and Fast & Furious. A relaxing day overall.

Sunday (Today): Al & I went over to Leo's house for an Argentinian style bbq. I haven't seen Scott & Jerry for nearly 2 years. It was good catching up with them again. Played some 'dangerous' car racing games on the PS2. That was fun. Leo's dogs are sooo cute! Love them, love them!! Church was encouraging too. Lotsa people were there tonight, good fellowship, great teaching.

Thank you, dear God for giving us the greatest gift - Your only Son.
